Franz Kafka and BigData by Szymon Scharmach

Today, enormous amounts of data are being generated everywhere, live streams, more and more devices are connecting to the internet daily. The first need in Big Data applications is to solicit data from multiple sources and store them in a central repository. Apache Kafka can help out with that by providing a unified way to connect all that systems and send messages/events in a consistent way. This presentation will try to outline some of the design patterns and common pitfalls related to using Apache Kafka in Big Data.

Unlock Machine Learning at Scale Using SageMaker by Olgun Aydin

Machine Learning models have been everywhere in daily routines and companies, institutions are even investing more to unlock machine learning capabilities to automate processes, provide better customer experience or optimize their work in a more efficient way. Having said that demand for scalable, highly available environments for end-to-end machine learning pipelines have been increasing. In this talk, focus will be describing machine learning lifecycle, showing how to use SageMaker for this purpose.
