  • Kamil Szymański: Nailing down bugs in distributed systems.

Finding bugs in distributed systems is challenging.Finding bugs on production in distributed systems is even harder due to time pressure, especially if the bug is on the critical path.At times like that, you can't afford to guess what's wrong, you have to take decisions based on real data.In this slides-free session, we will see how can we use live data for making bugs discovery quicker and finding root causes of such bugs easier. Moreover, we'll see how to roll out fixes to production in almost no time.

About Kamil: a software developer, JVM & open-source enthusiast, develops D2C investment platform @ Pragmatic Coders, helps organizations improve their software delivery processes @ OSEC

  • Marcin Dziedzic: Pragmatic view on microservice journey on AWS - case study

Fintech projects are quite specific. It's not only about appealing design and small, independent microservices. Quite quickly things like security, scalability, resiliency and disaster recovery become a day one must haves. It gets, even more, existing if you move to the clouds behind the "big players" comfort zone.

Two years of microservices journey in this specific context taught us a lot. We had to make quite a few thought, oftentimes unexpected, design decisions. Select from a variety of 3rd party tools and deal with the consequences.

In this talk, we will look at AWS hosted service, deployment methods, and 3rd party tools that helped us survive. Their pros and cons, and moreover, ideas for the future.
